What is The Numeracy Room?
The Numeracy Room provides specialist numeracy skills support for children, young people & adults. We support learners to build confidence, understanding & practical maths skills through engaging, structured sessions designed to make numeracy accessible, enjoyable & meaningful.
Who are Numeracy Skills Support sessions for?
Our sessions are for learners aged 9 through adulthood, supporting individuals with diverse learning profiles or special educational needs (SEN)..
What are numeracy skills classes?
Numeracy skills classes are small-group sessions focused on developing core skills such as problem-solving, reasoning, number fluency & real-world application. Learners can gain confidence as they explore mathematical ideas through visual, digital & hands-on approaches.
What is individual numeracy support?
Individual numeracy support sessions are one-to-one lessons tailored to each learner’s needs, goals & pace. We focus on building understanding, independence & confidence through personalized strategies that support both everyday maths & academic success.
Who leads sessions?
Qualified teachers with experience in SEN & inclusive education lead sessions. A learning support assistant is also present to provide additional guidance throughout in-person numeracy skills classes & individual numeracy support sessions.
How do you keep learners safe?
All staff are Enhanced DBS-checked and receive regular safeguarding, SEN & inclusive practice training. The Numeracy Room provides a supportive, safe & positive environment for every learner.
